Early on in Susan’s career she worked within the emergency services field in a variety capacities and found it to be immensely gratifying. As time passed she discovered that her true passion was to help people on a more personal, one-on-one basis.
With Bowtech, the Original Bowen Therapy, she knows she has arrived at her calling.
As a Bowtech practitioner Susan’s role is to remind your body of what it feels like to be healthy so that it can begin the process of healing itself. Bowen therapy is a very gentle, soft tissue therapy that stimulates the autonomic nervous system (A.N.S.) via your body’s fascia. The theory being that by stimulating your body’s parasympathetic nervous system (P.N.S.),which is responsible for relaxing and repairing your body, it allows the body a reprieve to begin healing itself. If you would like a more detailed explanation please see her blog, entitled “What is Bowen?” or “What’s in it for me?”. Bowen therapy acknowledges that it is only one part in a vast field of health care professionals, all of which hold the common goal – for you to attain your optimal health.
She received her certification through the Canadian Bowenwork/Bowtech Group, for more information on this organization please visit their site http://www.cbbg.ca.
