Durham Regional Police, Centralized Oshawa Problem-Based Response Unit (COPR)

The COPR unit is continuing its initiative on graffiti following a very successful enforcement initiative. For those that are not aware, the unit has arrested four individuals, responsible for about 90 % of the 300 or so identified locations of graffiti in our downtown and surrounding community. 55 criminal charges of mischief have filed on these individuals. Congratulations to PC Ryan Kapeluk and PC Glen Brown on an excellent investigation.

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce invited members to submit policy resolutions for debate at the 2009 Annual General Meeting and Convention, held at Hockley Valley Resort, Orangeville, on April 30 to May 2.

Chamber Requesting Federal Budget Input

In a continuing effort to better serve the business community the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce is soliciting your input into the upcoming Federal Budget. The Budget is due to be presented to parliament January 27.  It is the Chamber’s understanding that all submissions must be received no later than January 7th giving business a short time frame to comment.
