John Wright, the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Ipsos Ried’s North American Public Opinion Polling Division has been appointed Honourary Lieutenant-Colonel of The Ontario Regiment (Royal Canadian Armoured Corps) which is based in Oshawa, Ontario. His role as an ‘Honourary’ will be to serve as a link between the community and the Canadian Forces.
Lieutenant-Colonel Wright’s appointment was recommended by the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Walt Natynczyk and approved by Peter MacKay, the Minister of National Defence on 24 June of this year.
Additional Magnetic Resonance Imager to begin treating patients in early September. Lakeridge Health and The Oshawa Hospital Foundation welcomed the arrival of an additional, new MRI at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. The purchase of the much-anticipated machine was made possible through The Oshawa Hospital Foundation’s $4.85 million “A Picture of Health” fund-raising campaign and an Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care operating grant.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with 47 business associations from both sides of the border, today issued a joint report on Finding the Balance: Shared Border of the Future. Following up on their 2008 report, this paper offers specific recommendations to reduce border costs in the short-term while increasing security at the border and competitiveness of all industries.
