City of Oshawa Welcomes New Building Sponsor for Current General Motors Centre

October 11, 2016 – The City of Oshawa is pleased to announce that Tribute Communities will become the new building sponsor of Oshawa’s sports and entertainment facility (General Motors Centre). Under the 10-year naming rights agreement, the General Motors Centre will become the Tribute Communities Centre, effective November 1, 2016.

General Motors of Canada’s 10-year facility naming rights agreement expires on October 31, 2016. “We would like to thank General Motors of Canada for their commitment to our city as well as investing in our sports and entertainment facility for the past decade. We are very appreciative of General Motors’ support as it helped enable the facility to be recognized internationally as a premier facility,” said Oshawa Mayor John Henry. “We would also like to welcome Tribute Communities who is a great community partner and has helped grow our amazing city. We are looking forward to working together to continue to build the profile and success of the new Tribute Communities Centre.”
