Congratulations to our Business of the Month recipients!

Each month our Ambassador Committee recognizes a business for making a difference in the Greater Oshawa (Oshawa/Clarington) community through charitable, philanthropic or volunteer involement.

Coldwell Banker 2M Realty in Oshawa is involved not only in the local real estate market but the local community as well. Coldwell funds its charitable giving via a weekly 50-50 draw donated to a variety of charities. The branch also supports the Children’s Aid Society by donating over 800 in gifts to select children in need as well as the PFLAG with over $1000 donated in 2015 and aiming for similar in 2016! 2nd Time Around Tire - August 2016

2nd Time Around Tire is a one-stop shop for tires, wheels and tire service in Oshawa. On June 18, 2015, the sales associates and staff of RE/MAX Jazz presented the Lakeridge Hospital Foundation with a cheque for $25,000 to purchase a brand new Infant Resuscitation Unit for the ward at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Under the WEEMAX banner; the sales team at RE/MAX Jazz confirmed a 6 year, $150,000 commitment to upgrade and replace critical care equipment in the Paediatric Wing of Oshawa’s Hospital. Each year in May, associates from across Canada and the U.S. participate in a wide range of projects devoting their time to their communities. Keller Williams Energy’s past projects in Durham include, Bethesda House, Feed the Need Durham, Grandview Kids and Big Brother Big Sisters. They also started an annual ‘Turkey Drive’ which provides families with a full turkey dinner. Their goal this year is to feed 1,800 families. Gagnon Sporting Goods - March 2016

Gagnon Sports has been making a difference in the community for over 45 years. Located at 385 Bloor Street West in Oshawa, Gagnon has been a proud supporter of over 22 local fundraising events in the past year alone for organizations such as Durham Outlook for the Needy and Wounded Warriors Golf Tournament. Gagnon is involved in supporting local sports teams including the Clarington Flames junior hockey team and the Brooklyn Redman Lacrosse team. They also participate in Co-op programs with local high schools to give kids an opportunity to learn about owning and operating a retail business. Gagnon supports and donates to local fish hatcheries for the purpose of restocking our great lakes for the future of fishing. Fraser Ford is a family owned and operated family car dealership that is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year. The Waltzing Weasel - January 2016

The Waltzing Weasel is a big supporter in the local community. Over the past eight years, The Waltzing Weasel has hosted a breakfast on the first Saturday in December to collect Christmas gifts for “Sharon’s Kids” in support of the Children’s Aid Foundation’s ‘Holiday Hope Program’. The breakfast is free with a donation of a gift and annually serves approximately 400 people, meaning 400 gifts for children!
